About Us - Georgia Alabama Christian School Sports (GACS) is a regional organization formed to promote and support athletics for the home-schooled or private-schooled student who desires to participate in competitive sports.  

As our name states, we are a Christian group with a Mission Statement, Outlook Vision and Coaching Philosophy that is rooted in the basic tenet of our faith:  we are to love the Lord with all we are and love our brother as ourselves.  This finds expression in the encouragement of the individual to become part of a larger whole for the good of the team.  Every person is valued - every athlete is vital. 

Anchored in the Columbus, Georgia - Phenix City, Alabama area, GACS participation is open to any student athlete who meets the eligibility requirements for each sport regardless of your home address. 

(And you don't have to be a Christian to be a part of GACS, just be aware of the fact that the leadership is! )


 


YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN GACS SPORTS IF:  

  1. you live in Georgia or Alabama
  2. you are a home school student
  3. you are a private school student, your school does not offer sports and your participation does not violate any of the rules and regulations of your school
  4. you meet the age and gender requirements of the particular team.


The Facility we currently lease for our home games was formerly Woodland Christian School and then Faith Worship Center located at #1 Layfield Street, Phenix City, AL, 36867.  From the intersection of Highway 80/Crawford Road and 280/431 in Phenix city, head West towards Ladonia for about 3 miles.  At the intersection of Highway 80 and Woodland Drive (there is a light - Ladonia Elementary School and 13th Street BBQ) take a left onto Woodland/County Road 45 and go about 1 1/2 miles.  You will see the sign for Woodland Baptist Church on your left-take the second left at Wiggins Lane.  It will go straight about 1/2 mile, take a right hand curve and you will see the parking lot straight ahead.  If you continue to follow the road around another right hand curve it becomes Layfield Street. The gymnasium is behind the school and the fields are behind the gymnasium.  There is a small access road from the parking lot that runs along the west side of the buildings to the fields.
